Winston Peters has again been ordered to leave parliament's debating chamber after a spat with Speaker David Carter.

The NZ First leader was given the boot on Wednesday for challenging Mr Carter's rulings and on Thursday he again went too far.

Mr Peters had started asking a lengthy question when Mr Carter told him to get to the point.

"You're getting it," he retorted.

Mr Peters was ordered to apologise for saying that and did so, but then told Mr Carter: "I've been here longer than you, I know how to ask a question."

That was too much for Mr Carter to take and he ordered Mr Peters out for the rest of question time.
