A spate of scrub fires burning in bushland near Piha over the past week are suspicious, police say.

Detective Sergeant Ashley Matthews says a series of fires appear to have been deliberately lit on the Tasman View Track on Monday night and on the Marawhara Walk Track in the early hours of Wednesday.

Police believe the separate fires are related.

"These fires are a destructive and senseless act of vandalism and police will work to hold to account whoever is responsible," Det Sgt Matthews said.

He asked anyone with information about the fires to contact police.
