Wellington police have busted a drug syndicate after searching houses across the district and seizing methamphetamine and suspected stolen property.

The operation led to seven arrests on Tuesday as officers found 50g of methamphetamine, around $40,000 cash and suspected stolen goods in properties in Wellington, Hutt Valley and Porirua.

It came after police had tracked the meth dealing of a 53-year-old Wellington man over the past month.

Wellington District Drugs and Organised Crime team Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Leitch said the arrests not only helped end a ring trafficking in drugs and stolen goods but could help meth users to seek help.

"The investigation team is making contact with each of the people identified as customers of this syndicate," he said.

"(We are providing) advice and referral to support agencies who can help them to confront and deal with any drug-related problems affecting them and their families."

Those arrested appeared in the Wellington District Court to face charges, including supplying methamphetamine and GBL.
