Police are calling for witnesses to a fatal crash in which a pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Auckland in May.

The man in his 50s died when a red vehicle struck him in Mangere, between Bader Drive and Comet Crescent, on May 22, police say.

Members of the public travelling along bus route 380, operated by Go Bus, as well as a white car travelling towards Comet Cres at about 6pm on May 22 are urged to contact police.

It is hoped they may have seen the pedestrian on the road prior to the crash.
