Police investigating Polyfest brawl videos

Police say they're looking into a series of videos showing fighting around Auckland's Polyfest.

Two people had been arrested during the four-day student festival in Manukau, but none at the festival itself, police said on Monday.

Several videos have emerged on social media since the event showing fighting allegedly around the festival, including one of two women being dragged by their hair.

"It is incredibly disappointing to see the videos being posted online which reflects the behaviour of just a small number of the 90,000 people who attended," Inspector Tracy Phillips said.

She said police were following up on the videos and were appealing for public information about the incidents.

Officers had also been called to two reports of fighting on Saturday afternoon, but the crowd quickly left the scene on both occasions, she said.
