The four young people were killed when their white Nissan Skyline sedan collided with a Toyota van on State Highway 3, just before 10pm last Friday.

They were Lance Tyrone Robinson, 28, Paul De Silva, 20, Hannah Lei Strickett-Craze, 24, all from the local Waipa district, and 19-year-old Jason McCormick Ross from Taranaki.

Police have said speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

Police believe the Nissan - earlier seen in Te Awamutu - had been travelling with a second vehicle, a white hatchback possibly with tinted windows.

The two cars were seen in Ohaupo village, between Hamilton and Te Awamutu, before the crash.

Police confirmed on Tuesday they have found the occupants of the white car, as well as a red car that stopped at the crash scene.
