Search and rescue teams will scour a road in Christchurch on Saturday in the hunt for missing man Michael Craig McGrath.

A search of the Sabys Rd area in Halswell is getting underway as part of the investigation into the disappearance of the Christchurch builder.

Mr McGrath, 49, was last seen at his home in Checketts Ave in Halswell on May 21.

On Friday, Simon McGrath issued an appeal for help, reiterating it was out of character for his brother not to have been in touch with his family.

Police have earlier searched a property on the corner Candys and Sabys roads owned by a person of interest.

Police have appealed again for sightings of Mr McGrath around the days of his disappearance, including anyone who may have seen him cycling on his blue mountain bike.
