Police worried for missing Auckland teen

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 7/07/2016

Chicaine Erihe © NZ Police Chicaine Erihe Police have concerns for an Auckland teenager who has been missing for almost two weeks.

Chicaine Erihe, 16, was reported missing on June 24 after he did not return to his caregivers in the Waitakere area.

He was reported to be in Whangaparaoa shortly after this, but has not been in contact with family or friends.

Sergeant Daniel Brown says although the teen has a history of running away, this is the longest period of time he's been missing without anyone hearing from him.

"We have concerns for his wellbeing and want to hear from him or anyone who knows his whereabouts, so we can be sure he's safe."

It was possible he had gone to Whangarei, where he had family connections, police said.
