The event, New Zealand's biggest harbourside celebration of rainbow diversity, is on at Coyle Park on Sunday.

It has become traditional for the main parties to present MPs on the BGO main stage and they have received mixed receptions.

National Party MPs attending will be the focus of a protest action, GayNZ has reported.

The NZ AIDS Foundation oversees the running of the BGO.
