Lotto will be on many people's tongues this week after the Powerball jackpot rolled over to a record $44 million and must be won on Wednesday night.

The $38m jackpot was not struck on Saturday night and Lotto NZ bosses say the increased prize money must now go in Wednesday's draw.

If no single ticket wins Powerball first division the prize pool rolls down to the next highest division with winners.

The odds of picking a line of six winning Lotto numbers and then the correct Powerball are one in 38 million.
