Price fifth at Tattersalls Horse Trials

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 5/06/2016

New Zealand eventer Tim Price lost ground on the final day of the Tattersalls International Horse Trials in Ireland to finish fifth.

Price was second heading into the cross-country phase of the three-star event and jumped clear on Ringwood Sky Boy but a slow time cost him 17.6 penalty points, dropping him 62.50 overall.

He finished behind four Irish riders, including the winning combination of Padraig McCarthy riding Simon Porloe with 49.60 penalty points.

New Zealand's Jock Paget improved from 18th to ninth, helped by several withdrawals and the clear cross-country ride on Angus Blue.

Jonelle Price, the wife of Tim, finished second in the two-star class, riding Cooley Showtime.
