The daughter of Australian rugby league great Steve Price has been named in the New Zealand under-21 netball team.

Jamie-Lee Price, 20, was one of 14 players picked in the New Zealand team for an international under-21 netball tournament in Canberra.

The Waikato BOP Magic midcourter is one of eight players from trans-Tasman league franchise squads to earn selection for the six-nation event next month.

The tournament features a New Zealand Maori side, along with two Australian sides, England and an Australian academy team.

Price's father played 16 Tests for Australia and 28 State of Origin games for Queensland. After 222 NRL games for Canterbury Bulldogs he went on to captain the Warriors before retiring in 2010.
