Melbourne Storm and Kiwi back rower Kevin Proctor is in career-best form, according to New Zealand coach Stephen Kearney.

The 27-year-old Proctor scored a try and made almost 130 metres in his side's 16-8 win over reigning premiers North Queensland on the weekend.

He has scored six tries and made almost 1900 metres for the Storm in 2016, as well as five line breaks and more than 600 tackles.

Kearney said Proctor has almost become an automatic Kiwi selection.

"I reckon he's had the best season I've seen from him," Kearney said.

"His most consistent, anyway."

Canberra flyer Jordan Rapana, Warriors lock Simon Mannering and Roosters prop Isaac Liu were also recent Kiwi standouts, Kearney said.
