Pulse too good for winless Tactix

Central Pulse enjoyed their most comfortable outing of the national netball premiership, eclipsing the Mainland Tactix 48-37 in Wellington.

The Pulse made it two wins out of three after opening their campaign with a one-goal win over the Northern Mystics and a two-goal loss to the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic.

There was no final quarter drama on Sunday, the hosts having steadily pulled clear of a Tactix side who have lost their first three games by double-digit margins.

The Pulse midcourt was the biggest difference, with wing defence Claire Kersten particularly effective in stopping the Tactix flow, in conjunction with goal defence and Silver Ferns captain Katrina Grant.

New recruit Cathrine Tuivaiti was the most prolific shooter on display, landing 24 from 27 for the Pulse.

Tactix goal shoot counterpart Brooke Leaver was also accurate, landing 14 from 15 while visiting captain Anna Thompson (16/18) provided support.

The Tactix paid for a heavy penalty count against them, with the defensive trio of Hayley Saunders, Zoe Walker and Temalisi Fakahokotau, whistled 57 times between them.
