Open water swimmer Kane Radford has won an appeal and will compete for New Zealand at the Rio Olympics.

Radford was initially omitted from the team for the Games but successfully argued his case at the New Zealand Sports Tribunal.

The New Zealand Olympic Committee confirmed on Tuesday Radford has been included in the team and will become the first Kiwi open water swimmer to compete at an Olympics.
