His third-round match alongside American Ryan Harrison was less than 20 minutes old before wet weather at Roland Garros forced the players from the court.

The pair were leading Indian duo Purav Raja and Divij Sharan 2-1 in the first set in a clash of two unseeded combinations. Play had gone to serve in the first three games.

The winners will play a quarter-final against the seventh seeds - Croatian Ivan Dodig and Spaniard Marcel Granollers.
