Report vital for euthanasia debate

A parliamentary committee is close to reporting on public attitudes to voluntary euthanasia and its findings will have a big impact on the debate on David Seymour's End of Life Choice Bill.

The cross-party Health Select Committee began its inquiry in July 2015, receiving nearly 20,000 submissions and hearing hundreds of submitters in person.

Committee chairman Simon O'Connor says it's close to finalising its report.

Evidence presented showed how polarised the population is on voluntary euthanasia, with strong views held by both sides.
