Reynolds could miss another five weeks

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 24/04/2016 James MacSmith

Adam Reynolds will be sidelined for another five NRL matches if he is diagnosed with a broken jaw for the second time this season.

Reynolds missed five games after suffering the injury in South Sydney's round one win over the Roosters.

There are fears he suffered a similar injury in the Rabbitohs' big loss to Brisbane on Friday night at Suncorp Stadium.

The Rabbitohs No.7 was hit in a late, high tackle by Broncos forward Adam Blair that was put on report.

A timeframe of five weeks would have Reynolds back for Souths' round 14 clash with Wests Tigers on June 10.

But it could cruel any hopes he has of making his NSW debut in this season's State of Origin series.

The series starts in Sydney on June 1.

The full extent of Reynolds' injury might not be known until Tuesday, after he visits with specialists.
