Reynolds leads Rabbitohs to NRL boilover

NZN 13/08/2016 Angelo Risso

Souths playmaker Adam Reynolds produced an exceptional performance to drive his side to a 41-22 win over the Warriors, but his coach says it wouldn't be possible without a strong forward pack.

The 26-year-old Reynolds was unplayable at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday, laying on three tries through grubber kicks before nailing a field goal and hitting five from six conversions.

The NSW representative also made 12 tackles in a dominant South Sydney display.

He left the field in the 46th minute after suffering a hamstring strain but is not expected to miss Souths' final three NRL games.

South Sydney are already out of finals contention but will take a great deal of confidence from their 19-point win, having previously lost nine games on the trot.

Maguire told reporters that Reynolds' performance was made possible by the recent return of Greg Inglis and John Sutton from injury.

"When you've got the opposition going backwards, it allows Adam's game to really enhance," Maguire said.

"He was excellent there, he really steered the team around."

Maguire was equally complimentary of five-eighth Cody Walker, who also snared a try assist.

The 26-year-old Walker said the performance was 10 weeks in the making.

The team would now look to end the season on the right note.

"That's our plan every week, the possession sort of game," Walker said.

"That's what we want from Reynolds and he delivered that in the first half."
