Warriors fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck will take over from Ryan Hoffman as team captain in 2017.

Tuivasa-Sheck, 23, joined the club at the start of 2016 and made seven appearances before injuring his ACL and missing the remainder of the season.

He will skip this weekend's Nines tournament but is likely to make his competitive return against Newcastle in round one on March 5.

The Kiwis No.1 will serve as the Warriors' 11th captain since their 1995 inception.

"He is a true professional in the way he goes about all he does, providing a wonderful example for players to follow," coach Stephen Kearney said.

Kearney also announced the signing of Kiwis and Storm utility Tohu Harris from 2018, joining the club on a four-year deal.
