(Photo by Anthony Au-Yeung/Getty Images) Former French Open finalist Lucie Safarova has cruised through her ASB Classic first round match, defeating Denisa Allertova 6-1, 6-2.

The world No.62 was far too strong for her Czech compatriot, breaking her in three consecutive first-set games and again dominating the second.

The 23-year-old Allertova didn't help herself, however, by hitting nine double faults and winning less than a quarter of her first-return points.

After losing the first game, Safarova won six games on the trot in the first set, and followed that up by winning the final four games of the second set.

"I'm really happy that I could perform so well today," the 29-year-old Safarova said post-game.

"I'm very satisfied."
