LeaderBrand Produce says one of its salad product lines tested positive for listeria monocytogenes bacteria so it's voluntarily recalling its entire salad range.

The bacteria was detected in LeaderBrand Caesar Salad.

The recall applies to it and LeaderBrand Classic Salads, Fresh Plus Salads, Value Bag Salads, Pam's Fresh Express salads and 100 per cent Fresh Salads purchased since March 3 and with best before dates from March 15.

They are stocked by Countdown, New World and Pak'n Save and others.

All salad products distributed to Pita Pit and Subway outlets have also been recalled.

Listeria can be harmful to vulnerable people including children under five years of age and adults over 65, pregnant women and people with compromised immune systems.

If consumers have any health concerns, they should contact their GP.

People can dispose of the salads they have bought or return the products to their place of purchase for a full refund.

The company hopes to be able to supply fresh salad products soon.
