Sonny Bill Williams returns to the starting XV in the only change to the Blues team for the Super Rugby clash with the Hurricanes on Saturday.

Williams, who came off the bench in the 26-20 loss to the Highlanders for his Blues debut after an injury lay-off, has been named at inside centre with George Moala relegated to the bench.

The Blues are last in the New Zealand conference with three wins from seven while the Hurricanes have won five from six games to sit second.

Blues coach Tana Umaga says they are looking forward to taking on the defending champions at Eden Park.

"We are under no illusions that the Hurricanes will pose a tough test and we will need to be at our best for the whole 80 minutes.

"We continued to make progress last week and for much of the game played well but could not quite get across the line.

"We need to continue that improvement in all aspects, especially our decision-making at critical moments."
