Scandal actor fails drug test

Associated Press Associated Press 27/04/2016

Court records show that former Scandal actor Columbus Short has tested positive for cocaine and marijuana use and is facing a probation violation in a felony assault case.

The records show a probation report received by a court last week reported the positive drug tests, prompting a judge to order the actor to appear at a probation violation hearing on May 9.

Short pleaded no contest to felony assault in September and was sentenced to three years of supervised probation, community labor and anger management counseling.

He was charged after he delivered a running punch during a fight at a family gathering in March 2014.

Short's lawyer Ludlow B Creary II says the actor has already addressed his drug use and hopes he will remain on probation.
