Police are still looking for an Auckland man following a fatal shooting in a Manurewa driveway.

Bodi McKee, 23, is still being sought by police on Sunday morning after a 32-year-old man died from a gunshot wound to the stomach on Saturday.

There have been no new leads overnight, a police spokesman says.

Police say McKee is Maori, 183cm tall, of medium build, and has tattoos on his left shoulder and left forearm.

He may have a gun and should not be approached, they say.

He was allegedly involved in a fight with a man he knew at a house on Winsford Street about 7am on Saturday before the shooting, police say.

"Shortly after the incident McKee apologised to the occupants of the address and then left," Detective Inspector Gary Lendrum said.

The argument between the two men was brief and police don't know what it was about.

The victim was staying at the house and had arrived the night before.

A post-mortem examination will be held on Sunday.
