A competitive tender for the service will be opened shortly, Social Development Minister Anne Tolley said on Friday.

"The helpline will provide free access to information, crisis support and referral on to local service providers."

Justice Minister Amy Adams says "a more effective integrated system" is being set up to ensure sexual violence victims receive the support and services they need.
