Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan has begun the mind games with grand final opponents Melbourne, opting not to reveal his final line-up for the NRL decider.

Flanagan said he had made up his mind on who would take the field, ruling out Joseph Paulo, but failing to disclose whether Sam Tagataese would return in place of rookie Luke Capewell.

"In my mind, I have (decided). We got another training run on Saturday. But Joseph Paulo definitely won't play. I'll make my mind up on the other two later as the week goes on," he said.
