Skipper Chris Wood will miss New Zealand's last Nations Cup pool match against the Solomon Islands in Papua New Guinea after dislocating his shoulder early in the All Whites' 5-0 win over Vanuatu.

Wood sustained a grade one strain in the AC joint at the top of his shoulder in a collision shortly after scoring twice in the opening five minutes on Tuesday.

But although he'll miss Saturday's final Group B match, the 24-year-old Leeds striker hasn't been ruled out of the tournament.

Coach Anthony Hudson said Wood will remain in camp as he looks to recover from the injury.

"He has no chance of playing in the next game and it's touch-and-go as to whether he will play any further part," Hudson said.

"We're just going to monitor it on a day-by-day basis and it depends how quickly he can recover.

"We hope to have him available for the semi-final if we are to make it, but we'll just have to wait and see."

The Solomon Islands are winless after losing 1-0 to both Fiji and Vanuatu.
