The Silver Ferns will play Tests in successive days against Wales to end their off-season overseas tour.

Welsh Netball announced the Tests will be in Cardiff on February 7 and 8, the first time New Zealand have played in Wales for nearly 20 years.

The Tests fall soon after the completion of the Quad Series in which the Silver Ferns play Australia, England and South Africa in a travel-heavy schedule from January 28 to February 5.

Welsh Netball chief executive Sarah Jones expects the arrival of the world No.2 ranked side to create interest.

"The Ferns are world class and one of the most dominant netball teams in the world," she said.

"This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many of us. We anticipate that these will be sell-out events."

New Zealand are unbeaten in 14 Tests against eighth-ranked Wales since the teams first met in 1963.

Their only previous Tests in Wales were in 1982 and 1997.
