This week's wild weather washed out the fixture and has resulted in it being rescheduled to Thursday.

A seven-race twilight card will now feature the Auckland Cup, the Bonecrusher New Zealand Stakes, the Sistema Stakes, and the Group 2 Westbury Classic.

Chief executive Cameron George said the decision had been made early on Saturday morning.

"Up until four o'clock on Friday the track was a Dead 5 or 6, but since then more than 100 millimetres of rain has fallen with the forecast of more to come," he said.

"We made the decision after a track inspection at six o'clock this morning and now we're looking forward to a twilight meeting on Thursday.

"It's unique, and it could be a bit of a test case - it could be the way forward."

With the abandonment of Saturday's meeting, the TAB has refunded all futures and final field bets.
