Melbourne are considering signing their former NRL winger Sisa Waqa after his return from French rugby union.

The Fijian, who was a member of Craig Bellamy's 2012 premiership-winning side, broke his jaw while playing for FC Grenoble and moved back to Australia about three weeks ago.

The Storm have allowed the 31-year-old Waqa to train with the NRL side and will make a decision on whether to offer him a contract before the June 30 deadline.

Waqa played 67 games with the Storm between 2011 and 2014 and was their leading tryscorer in his final year before shifting to Canberra for two seasons.

He represented Fiji in the last Rugby League World Cup.
