Skateboard attack in Napier

A man has been bashed in the head with a skateboard and robbed in the middle of a Napier Street.

The victim was knocked unconscious by two men outside the Pak'n Save supermarket in Raffles Street early on Thursday morning who made off with the man's mobile phone and bankcards. He is now recovering in hospital, police say.

The offenders were described as Maori, approximately 170-180cm tall, of solid build and aged in their late teens to early 20s. They were wearing dark hoodies, dark clothing and carrying skateboards.
