All Blacks stalwarts Ben Smith and Sam Cane will play no further part in their side's northern tour after falling injured in Saturday's 21-9 victory over Ireland.

The 30-year-old Smith, the side's vice-captain, broke a finger in Dublin, while the 24-year-old Cane suffered a high ankle sprain.

Both were substituted and will not play in the All Blacks' final Test of the 2016 campaign against France in Paris next week.

Elsewhere, Blues lock Patrick Tuipulotu will head home on Sunday for personal reasons, following in the footsteps of fellow lock Luke Romano.

Head coach Steve Hansen said no replacements will be brought into the squad.
