Former Kiwi cricketer Martin Snedden has resigned as chief executive of sports promotion company Duco Events.

Mr Snedden, who also oversaw the 2011 Rugby World Cup, spent two years in the Duco top job and helped plan Joseph Parker's path to the WBO heavyweight title.

He'll remain in the job until just before Christmas.

"Joseph's win over Andy Ruiz Jr last Saturday night nicely bookends my two years at Duco," Mr Snedden said.

"The objectives were to move Joseph from a boxing ranking outside the top 15 to a world championship title."

The 25-Test bowler also helped get the pre-season NRL Auckland Nines and Rugby Brisbane Tens tournaments off the ground.

Outside of Duco, Mr Snedden serves as a director of New Zealand Cricket and next April's World Masters Games in Auckland.
