Sorry to lost Auckland nominees © Brendon O'Hagan/Bloomberg News Sorry to lost Auckland nominees Auckland Council had to amend its list of contestants for local body elections after some nominations were lost.

A file of 25 nominations lodged in the Henderson Service Centre was hand delivered and was not scanned into the system so the names were not on the list.

They are now, and apologies have been made.

Local body elections are being held around the country in October and there have been reports that some roles will be uncontested because only one person put their name forward.

Auckland Council's electoral officer Dale Ofsoske said there were 467 nominations for 170 positions, including 18 for the mayoralty, by 1pm on Saturday.

That compared with 470 in 2013 and 545 in 2010.

There are 74 nominations for 20 ward councillor positions across 13 wards with the Franklin ward uncontested.

The final confirmed nomination list will be gazetted on August 17.

Some 375 candidates will vie for 149 positions across 21 local boards - while 73 nominations have been received for 21 members for three district health boards and 64 for 35 members for five licensing trusts.

Voting documents will be delivered to Auckland's one million and fifty thousand eligible voters from September 16 for the postal ballot which closes at noon on October 8. The results will be declared on October 13.
