Sound PGA performance from Wilkinson

NZ Newswire logoNZ Newswire 20/11/2016

Tim Wilkinson has produced his best performance of the PGA Tour season, finishing in a share of 21st in Georgia.

Wilkinson produced four sub-70 rounds at the RSM Classic, including a closing two-under 68, to be 11-under.

He was six strokes behind the five golfers who contested a play-off.

Wilkinson had made a disappointing start to the season, missing the cut at his first two tournaments.

Compatriot Steve Alker was eighth after the first round but faded to place 54th on six-under.

Bad light forced the play-off to be postponed until Monday.

Camilo Villegas, Henrik Norlander, Blayne Barber and Mackenzie Hughes will return after twice shooting par-four on the 18th hole. American Billy Horschel was eliminated.
