Speaker taking a look at Max Key's video

Max Key didn't have permission to film in parliament's restricted areas and Speaker David Carter is taking an interest in what went on, it's been reported.

Former prime minister John Key's son made a video about his dad's last day in parliament before his valedictory speech a week ago.

It's had more than 20,000 views on social media.

The problem is it was filmed in parts of the building that need permission from the Speaker - Max Key even zoomed in on a sign informing visitors of filming restrictions.

A spokesman for Mr Carter said the Speaker wasn't aware of the video but would be making inquiries, NZME reports.
