A school's sports team coach is alleged to have shown young boys a pornographic movie and passed a sex toy around them.

The Crown also claims the woman climbed into a bed two of the boys were sharing, touching one of them inappropriately and making him touch her breast.

On trial in Rotorua District Court is Pamela Kulukula Purdie , 23.

She has pleaded not guilty to exposing the boys to indecent material while communicating with them, indecent assault on a boy of 12 and performing an indecent act on the same boy.

The offences are alleged to have occurred at Rotorua between April 1 and 2 last year.

In her opening, Crown Prosecutor Ngaroma Tahana said that, a few days after the touching episode, the woman contacted the boy on Facebook asking him if he had liked what happened or found it gross or disgusting.

Finding the message, the boy's parents contacted his school, which advised them to go to the police.

Defence lawyer Harry Edward disputed the claim that Purdie exposed the boys to indecent material, saying it was circulated by two of their number.

The trial before Judge Josephine Bouchier and a jury of 11 is set down for four days.
