A man is due to appear in the Hastings District Court after police raided a Hastings property and found a stolen kitchen, tools and building materials.

He'll face a number of charges in relation to stolen the property next week, police said.

Police searched a property in Ngatarawa Road on Thursday where they found goods they allege were taken from as many as 40 people in burglaries across Hawke's Bay.

The stolen goods include a brand new kitchen, circular saws, nail guns, timber, a set of windows, bags of plaster, scaffolding, electrical wires, and dive tanks, all valued in excess of $100,000.

Items owners have engraved with their names or initials or driver licence number are easier to return, prompting police to advise people to label items.

The investigation started when an officer spotted a suspicious amount of property.
