StoryStream Secures $2.6M from MMC for its smart content platform

TechCrunch TechCrunch 26/04/2016 Mike Butcher

Marketers have a complicated time of it. They have to combine user generated content with branded content in a way that doesn’t leave the brand looking utterly foolish.

StoryStream has a platform for figuring this out, and has now raised a $2.6M (£1.8M)Series A funding to address the content marketing industry with its real-time search, curation and content publishing technology.

The round was led by MMC Ventures, the London-based VC.

StoryStream already works with Porsche, Thomas Cook and Volvo. This Series A round is the first external funding.

Its main competitors tend to be in the social aggregation space, and include companies like Olapic which has raised $21.09M and Stackla, which has raised $6.11M.

StoryStream claims its key USP’s include the ability to search for and curate any form of content, not simply UGC, and offering personalisation and the ability to delivery it in-store on retail signage.
