Dallas - Democratic voters in Texas have respect for Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, but many voted for Clinton because they believed Sanders' policies are impractical.
Summer Abubaker, 25, chose the former secretary of state over Vermont's U.S. senator.
"We really were deciding between Bernie and Hillary, and I really like Bernie a lot," she said. "I'm just worried about some of his ideas and how easy they would be to implement."
Marcello Migoni, 28, also voted for Clinton but didn't like the choices she had.
"I don't like any of the republican candidates and honestly I don't really care for any of the democrats either, so for me it was the best out of a bad situation," he said.
James O'Neal, 28, also voted for Clinton. He said she's the leader this country needs.
"I think she's a good leader and I think she's qualified, which I don't think I could say for the rest of the candidates," he said.
On the Republican side, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas got the support he need from his home state Republicans.
Amanda Scott, 23, also voted for Cruz based on his fiscal policies and because it wasn't Trump.
"I'm a staunch supporter of anyone other than Trump," she said. "I vote for fiscal policies which I do align with for Ted Cruz. I don't align with his social issues, but I don't vote for social issues."
