Two more swimmers have qualified for July's world swimming championships in Budapest after winning their heats at the New Zealand open championships in Auckland.

Sam Perry and Gabrielle Fa'amausili join Helena Gasson (50m butterfly), Corey Main (200m backstroke) and Emma Robinson (800m freestyle) in posting qualifying times in the first three days of the nationals.

Perry, 21, who is a junior on scholarship at Stanford University near San Francisco, equalled the 50m freestyle qualifying time when he clocked 22.47 seconds ahead of Daniel Hunter's 22.48 in Wednesday morning's heat.

Seventeen-year-old Fa'amausili, the world junior backstroke champion, won her 50m freestyle heat in 25.02.

The time was .016sec under the qualifying time for Budapest, and only .01sec outside the New Zealand record set by Hayley Palmer at the 2010 New Delhi Commonwealth Games.
