Ross Taylor is returning to Sussex as their overseas player in the county domestic Twenty20 season.

The 32-year-old former Black Caps captain will arrive back at the County Ground in July ahead of the Sharks' fixtures in the shortest format.

He starred in the tournament last season despite the team's failure to progress beyond the group stage.

Taylor registered 394 runs in 10 matches for Sussex last term at an average of 56.28, with a highest score of 93 not out against Gloucestershire in a 48-ball knock which included eight sixes.

Taylor is looking forward to resuming his working relationship with Sussex captain Luke Wright and head coach Mark Davis.

"The squad is looking very strong with a great balance of experience and exciting young talent. I can't wait to join up with Luke, Davo and the rest of the staff once again," he said.
