Ted Cruz To Obama: 'Come Back And Insult Me To My Face'

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) responded to President Barack Obama a day after he took a not-so-subtle swipe at the Republican presidential hopeful for wanting to shut America's doors to Syria's refugees.

Speaking in Turkey and again in the Phillipines earlier this week, Obama chided Republicans for wanting to allow only Christian Syrians, rather than Muslims ones, into the U.S.

"At first, they were too scared of the press being too tough on them in the debates. Now they are scared of three-year-old orphans," the president said. "That doesn't seem so tough to me."

Cruz addressed the president's remarks after an event on Capitol Hill, taking issue with what he called "cheap insults" made on foreign soil.

"If you want to insult me, you can do it overseas, you can do it in Turkey, you can do it in foreign countries, but come back and insult me to my face," Cruz said. "Let's have a debate on Syrian refugees right now. We can do it anywhere you want....It's easy to toss a cheap insult where no one can respond."
