Teens charged over tomahawk robbery

Police car © SNPA Police car Two teens have been charged with robbing a Christchurch dairy last month armed with a tomahawk and kitchen knife.

The armed teenagers allegedly entered J-Mart Dairy in Opawa on April 13 and stole cash and cigarettes from the outlet's lone worker, police say.

Police recently arrested a 16-year-old who will appear in the Christchurch Youth Court on Friday charged with aggravated robbery.

A 15-year-old arrested earlier and facing the same charge is due to reappear in the Youth Court next week.
