Three teens are to appear in court on Thursday after $42,000 worth of cigarettes and groceries were stolen in a ram raid of a Raglan service station.

Police say two 15-year-olds and a 17-year-old will appear in Hamilton Youth Court charged with stealing a motor vehicle and burglary.

The charges come after a stolen vehicle was driven into the BP service station early on Sunday and tobacco and other products stolen. Two other stolen vehicles were also used in the raid.

Police say the three charged had since been selling the stolen goods online and two others have been arrested for receiving stolen property.
