Three teenagers have been arrested after police say a Tauranga dairy was robbed at gunpoint.

Two males entered the Lucky 7 Superette on Maungatapu Road on April 26 and threatened the dairy worker with a pistol, while a third drove a getaway car, police say.

"The incident was traumatic for the shop attendant who had a pistol pointed at him," Detective Sergeant Craig Rawlinson says.

Police say they have recovered the pistol used in the robbery.

Two teens, aged 18 and 19, were set to appear in Tauranga District Court on Wednesday charged with aggravated robbery, while a 16-year-old is due in Youth Court on May 9 also on a robbery charge.
