Titans confident Peats will stay on Coast

Gold Coast coach Neil Henry is confident new State of Origin star Nathan Peats will re-sign with the Titans despite interest from former club Parramatta.

The Titans have reportedly upped their offer to Peats, with Parramatta sounding out a return by the hooker they released mid-season last year due to salary cap pressure amid the club's cap scandal.

"Talks are on old hold over the Origin period ... There's been a bit of toying about the exact contract, but all indications are that he really likes it on the coast and his family are settled and he wants to stay here," Henry said on Tuesday.

Peats missed the first six games of the season due to a shoulder injury but has been one of the Titans' best players since and has averaged 38 tackles per game.

That form earned him a State or Origin debut for NSW, replacing axed veteran Robbie Farah and the skill and toughness he displayed while playing 80 minutes in that big Blues victory will only have enhanced his value.

His slick service was credited with getting the Blues' potent attack moving and he further impressed by playing on despite the pain from a cork injury.
