Tourists lose memories of trip to raiders

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 11/06/2016

Police estimate $5000 worth of property and a record of 10 months of travel in New Zealand and Australia were in bags stolen from tourists in Christchurch.

Three tourists from Germany, France and Italy parked their rental van in Sydenham and headed into town on foot for a meal on Friday night.

They returned to their Juicy Rental Campervan in Byron St at about 9.30pm to find a side window smashed and their three backpacks and two packs gone.

They had their passports, credit cards and cash on them but the bags contained hard drives and cameras with photos and videos of the past 10 months of their holiday in Australia and New Zealand and other property.

Police are appealing for people with information to come forward.
