New Zealand will face two-time champions Australia in their opening game at next year's Champions Trophy in England.

Group A rivals England and Bangladesh will play the tournament opener on June 1, followed a day later by the trans-Tasman clash at Edgbaston in Birmingham, one of three venues used for the eighth edition of the one-day international tournament.

New Zealand's game against England on June 6 and Bangladesh on June 9 will both be at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

Bangladesh will contest the tournament for the first time, having moved into the world rankings top eight ahead of the demoted West Indies.

The final is at The Oval in London on June 18.

New Zealand's lone title came at the 2000 tournament in Kenya. They lost the 2009 final to Australia in South Africa. India are defending champions.
